Getting rates accounts from the City of Joburg

Last night the trustees met to discuss the problems that individuals have had in getting their rates accounts from the City of Johannesburg. As you know, when we finally do get a bill, it will be backdated from 1 July this year and will be pretty big, so getting our accounts is becoming more and more important.

The trustees decided to hire a consultant to get us our accounts as soon as possible. If you have already received your account (when I last spoke to the City they said that 3 owners have their accounts) or if you wish to do this on your own, please let us know in the next 7 days (i.e. before Thursday the 4th of December) otherwise we will presume that owners need help with this. You will be billed R200 for this service by the consultant and you’ll see this fee on your next levy account.

We really hope that this resolves the problem quickly and efficiently – and that it saves us all the many hours that it has been taking to get our account from the City.
